AltaLife RP Gang RP Rules
These rules apply only to approved or organized gang RP jobs/groups. Random, unorganized civilian crime does not fall under this section, but all normal server rules still apply.
Gang RP should create story, territory, conflict, reputation, and consequences. It should not be nonstop shooting or robbery for profit only.
1. Organized Gang Standard
- Gang RP applies to groups acting as an organized gang, crew, cartel, set, family, or similar criminal organization.
- Members must roleplay realistic motives, structure, loyalty, risk, and consequences.
- Do not use gang RP as an excuse for random violence.
- Do not recruit only to build numbers for shootouts.
- Do not claim territory you cannot realistically maintain through roleplay.
- Staff may remove organized status if the group becomes low-quality, inactive, or toxic.
2. California Based Gang RP
- San Andreas uses California law as the baseline for gang-related roleplay.
- Gang crimes, firearm crimes, drug crimes, assaults, robberies, extortion, and organized criminal activity should be roleplayed realistically.
- Police investigations, warrants, informants, raids, arrests, and sentencing can carry major consequences.
- Being in a gang does not make you immune from server rules or law enforcement RP.
3. Conflict and Wars
- Gang conflict needs roleplay build-up.
- Do not start a war over tiny insults or OOC issues.
- Do not attack random members with no scene context.
- Do not force every conflict into a shootout.
- Retaliation must be realistic and proportional.
- War terms, truces, payments, and territory agreements should be roleplayed clearly.
- Staff may pause or end gang conflict if it becomes toxic, repetitive, or rule-breaking.
4. Robberies and Hostages
- Robberies must create roleplay, not only inventory gain.
- Do not chain rob players.
- Do not rob the same person or business repeatedly with no story.
- Hostages must be real players and treated as part of the scene.
- Demands must be reasonable for the scene.
5. Turf and Businesses
- Turf must be handled through roleplay, not Discord arguments.
- Businesses cannot be claimed without owner/staff-approved RP.
- Do not camp legal jobs or public areas only to rob people.
- Do not force every civilian or business owner to pay tax unless there is strong roleplay build-up.
- Extortion, protection money, and intimidation must stay realistic.
6. Weapons and Violence
- Weapons require valid roleplay reason.
- Do not shoot first because you expect trouble.
- Do not mag dump scenes with no communication.
- Do not use vehicles, rooftops, or mechanics in unrealistic ways to win.
- EMS and uninvolved civilians should not be targeted without strong roleplay reason.
7. Clothing, Names, and Identity
- Gang clothing and colors should fit the group identity.
- Do not copy real-life gangs in a disrespectful or hateful way.
- No slurs, hate symbols, extremist references, or offensive coded content.
- Do not use gang RP to harass players OOC.
- Character names must still be realistic.
8. Leadership and Responsibility
- Leaders are responsible for the quality of their group.
- Leaders must handle member issues before staff has to step in.
- Groups should keep conflict in-character.
- Do not encourage members to break rules.
- If a member repeatedly damages roleplay, the group may face consequences.
Final Rule
Gang RP is for organized criminal storytelling. If the group is only robbing, shooting, baiting police, or causing OOC drama, it is not good gang RP.
