Privacy Policy

This policy explains how AltaLife RP handles information for the website, account system, suggestion tracker, development tracker, rules editor, and staff resources.

1. Information We Collect

When you use the site, we may process basic request information such as IP address, user agent, requested pages, timestamps, and security events. When you sign in with Discord, we may receive your Discord user ID, username, global display name, avatar identifier, discriminator if available, and selected guild membership information needed for access checks.

2. Account And Session Data

The site uses a signed session cookie to keep you logged in. The cookie is designed to store only the account details needed for site access and avoids storing a full list of Discord servers. Logging out clears the active site session cookie.

3. Suggestions And Site Submissions

If you submit suggestions, comments, links, staff notes, or rule edits, we store the content you provide along with timestamps and basic author information. Staff-only notes are intended for staff operations and are not shown publicly.

4. Discord

Discord provides OAuth login, profile information, guild membership checks, bot/API requests, and optional direct message notifications for suggestion updates. Your use of Discord is also governed by Discord's own terms and privacy policy.

5. Cloudflare

Cloudflare may process traffic data for security, DNS, caching, firewall, analytics, bot mitigation, TLS, and performance. Cloudflare may see IP addresses, request metadata, and security events before traffic reaches the AltaLife RP server.

6. ServerCheap.com Hosting

ServerCheap.com provides hosting infrastructure. Server and network logs may be processed through that infrastructure to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and maintain the site.

7. Storage And Retention

Website data may be stored in MongoDB-backed collections or local fallback files depending on configuration. We keep information for as long as needed for community operations, staff review, security, troubleshooting, recordkeeping, or feature functionality.

8. Sharing

We do not sell site account data. We may share or process information with service providers needed to operate the site, including Cloudflare, ServerCheap.com, Discord, and database infrastructure. We may also disclose information when required for safety, abuse response, legal compliance, or protecting the community.

9. Your Choices

You can log out to clear the active session cookie. You can avoid submitting suggestions or comments if you do not want that content stored. You can contact AltaLife RP staff through Discord to ask about account-related site data.

10. Security

We use signed cookies, same-origin write protections, role checks, rate limits, and security headers to reduce risk. No website can guarantee perfect security, so users should protect their Discord accounts and avoid sharing sensitive personal information in public submissions.

11. Updates

This policy may be updated as the site changes. Continued use of the site after updates means you acknowledge the current policy.
